![]() Christmas 09 NewsletterComing UpThe next display at the Ed-Space will be about metamorphasis. If you have transformed old or recycled materials into a work of art or a practical project, we’d like to include it in our display. Email Ivy ivy@wanakawastebusters.co.nz or call the office on 443 8606 ext 9. Green Waste regulars will have noticed some changes in staff. Rob has moved on to a new job as Wanaka town custodian for Queenstown Lakes District Council. We wish him all the best, and look forward to seeing him out on the trike. The lovely Ivy has moved over to Green Waste. Conal Wattam, Delta’s recently appointed compost manager for Central Otago, is also spending lots of time at Wanaka Green Waste fine-tuning the compost process. Summer touch is back. Scotty Opetaia and Byron Clarke, from Wanaka Wastebuster operations, are organising and coaching a second season of touch rugby for 9-14 year olds. Touch will take a brief break over Christmas, but will start up again Monday 15th Feb, 3.30pm at the showgrounds. Just turn up or call Scotty on 443 8606 ext 4. It’s a busy summer for Wastebusters events recycling with three major events coming up: Rippon, Wanaka Warbirds and the New Zealand Golf Open. Look for the recycling feather flags which mark the recycling bins if you get to one of these events. Bis and his team put in some long hot days, and they don’t go home til the last bottle has been picked up and recycled. A big thanks to everyone who helped film the inaugural Wastebusters movie ad on a long December Sunday, especially to Claire from Te Kakano for lending us her red mini for the day, and to seven-year olds Thomas, Rhys and Aden who played Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. MayE films are editing it now, and it should be screening at Cinema Paradiso before Christmas. .
