Sustainability in the Home
Sustainable Living workshops are back. Audit your energy use, plan an energy efficient house or
explore ways to reduce your fossil fuel footprint.

The morning Session:
Energy: Conduct a home energy audit and discover how to save energy. Learn about renewable energy options.
Construction: Discussion about choosing sustainable materials and and building a more sustianable home.
Water: Be guided through ways you can monitor and easily decrease your usage of this precious resource.
The afternoon Session:
Waste: Take a closer look at the local waste situation what is being thrown away, what is being recycled, problem areas?
Shopping: Learn how to be a responsible consumer know what you are really buying and make informed decisions.
Travel: Take a closer look at your household’s travel requirements and decide on ways you can reduce your fossil fuel footprint. |
Come for one session or the whole day, up to you. There is no need to pre-register just turn up on the day |

Composting and Raised Beds
Dr Compost is coming to Queenstown. He'll show you how to compost your food scraps and green
waste using worms, bokashi or traditional composting. If your garden's a little peaky, your garbage a bit stinky, he's got a solution. |

Composting: A practical hands-on session where you will discover compost, bokashi, worm-farming, trenching, and sheet mulching as alternatives to throwing your household scraps in the landfill.
The afternoon session:
Raised beds: A practical hands-on session building a raised bed from scratch. Creating a healthy garden so you can grow your own food. |
